Be at the beach in 10 minutes. Anoeho'omalu Beach (A-Bay) is located in Waikoloa Beach resort. Make sure you make time to enjoy the spectacular sunsets at this beach. 15 minutes to the north is a classic white sand beach at Hapuna State Park. Just past Hapuna beach is Mauna Kea beach named one of the world's best beaches by Conde Nast Magazine. Get a beach pass at the gate and arrive early as only a limited number of cars are allowed.
30 minutes north is the Waimea the Home of the Parker Ranch, one of the largest privately owned ranches in the United States. Waimea has plenty of shopping and many fine dining restaurants. Kailua-Kona town is 30 minutes to the south.
Hike and sightsee Waipio Valley, Pololu Valley (1 hour) or visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (2hours). Check with the park for current information on the lava flow.
